Margaret’s Christmas jingle — raising spirits and funds
She’s back — and more determined than ever! Margaret, now 86, continues her beautiful tradition of writing and sharing her Christmas jingle to raise funds for the Dogs’ Homes of Tasmania. A self-proclaimed “dog-minded” person, Margaret has loved and cared for dogs her entire life, with each one holding a special place in her heart.
Around 30 years ago, Margaret discovered another love — writing jingles. Her clever rhymes and heartfelt words became so popular that people began asking her to create jingles for milestones and celebrations. Margaret soon realised her talent could do more than bring smiles; it could also make a difference.
So, Margaret combined her passions for dogs and jingles, creating her now-famous fundraising tradition. Every Christmas, she shares her jingles at Nutgrove Dog Beach, asking for donations to support the Dogs’ Homes. Over the years, Margaret has raised thousands of dollars, always with her signature charm and determination.
Last year, Margaret raised over $3000 by distributing her jingle! And true to her generous spirit, Margaret hopes to inspire others to follow her lead, encouraging dog lovers to create their own jingles or other creative works to raise funds for our Christmas Appeal. She’s even said she’ll help you write a jingle! Just drop a line to mdm@dhot.com.au and we’ll connect you with this wonderful human.
