Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of the Tasmanian community, we are excited to share that our Puppy Crisis Appeal has reached its $200,000 fundraising goal, along with the $50,000 matched giving target, made possible by a remarkably generous donor. This incredible support is already saving the lives of Tassie dogs and puppies.
We can’t begin to express our gratitude to each and every single individual and organisation who have supported us both during this appeal and throughout our history. We receive no government funding. Dogs’ Homes of Tasmania is entirely community funded, and we rely on dog-loving Tasmanian like you to care for every dog who comes through our donors.
Thank you for standing with us, and for every dog who needs help today and into the future

📢 Our appeal may have reached it’s fundraising goal, but the puppy crisis is ongoing, and the need for help continues every day. As we move into the new year, your ongoing support will ensure vulnerable dogs and puppies have food, shelter, medical care and safety when they have nowhere else to turn.

At a minimum, it costs us $1,065 to give a single puppy ‘the basics’ — food, shelter, flea treatment, a microchip, desexing and vaccinations. And that’s before we even factor in unexpected medicines, diagnostic tests, transport, or the emergencies that puppies from neglected litters often bring.
Unfortunately, many puppies don’t arrive with wagging tails and bright eyes. They arrive starving, dehydrated, riddled with worms, and needing round-the-clock care. It can be overwhelming. At times, it feels like an almost impossible load for our team to carry. But we cannot give up — and with your support, we won’t.
Every smile, every tail wag, every second chance, starts with you. Your kindness and generosity is what makes our lifesaving work possible.
