Love dogs but can’t commit for a lifetime? Become a foster carer
Foster carers care for dogs in their own home. They change dogs’ lives for the better by giving them a loving, stress-free home where they can gain confidence and enjoy life.
Foster care is not always easy, and it can take time for a dog to settle in your home, but the feeling of seeing a dog you have helped go off to their forever home is priceless.
Flexible commitment
You can foster for a weekend, a week, a month or until they’re adopted, it’s completely up to you.
Help adoptions
You help your foster dog find a forever family by giving us photos and information about your dog to help us promote them. When a potential adopter shows interest, we arrange for them to meet the dog at our Home.
Socialisation
Do you have children or other pets? That’s great. We’ll match you with a suitable dog. Time spent with a family or living with another dog is often exactly what our dogs need.
Expenses
We’ve got you covered. Every foster dog comes with their own supplies and all approved medical expenses are covered. All you need to provide is a loving environment and care.
Support
We give you all the support and advice you need including access to a private facebook group to network with other carers. Our Foster Care Coordinator and Vet Nurse/Behaviour Trainer are available by phone 24/7.
What’s involved?
Having a foster dog can be a big responsibility. You will be responsible for a dog that you don’t know very well, so you need to be careful to keep them safely under your control at all times. Plenty of love and attention at home, and walks on lead are great, but no dog parks or off lead runs at the beach!
