Aslan and Ursa

Someone got all intellectual naming these two, who were strays wandering together. Aslan means lion and Ursa means bear. The most important thing about them? They must be adopted together.

We think they are Golden Retriever-Poodle crosses. Ursa is a girl who looks to her more confident and slightly scruffier boyfriend Aslan for guidance. “They came to us with limited socialisation and Ursa was not coping without her friend in her kennel,” staff say. “They have come leaps and bounds in foster care and are now getting confident with soliciting interaction from humans and following the carer’s dog around.”

In a perfect world we’d love them to go to a place where there’s already another dog to help them settle in, but this would require a kennel licence. Aslan and Ursa will need a quiet home where they can adjust to family life at their own pace: patience and TLC will be key here.

As Aslan and Ursa is currently staying with a foster carer, they are not located on site and will not be present if you visit. This includes if you book a visit or meeting via our online booking system. Aslan and Ursa will only be available to view or meet when prior arranged with our team over the phone.

Please note:
• Rental agreements allowing dogs will be required for adoption into rental properties.
• Before adopting a dog, all members of your household must attend a meet and greet with the dog (including small children and existing dogs).
• Whilst the website is live and updates frequently, there is a chance that when you arrive a dog may already have been adopted by some-one else. Sorry, but we cannot put dogs on hold over the phone. You need to meet them first so that we can ensure a suitable match.
• While our Homes are open, not every dog available for adoption will be onsite and available in person. You will notice some dogs are listed as ‘foster care’. This means that they are offsite with one of our amazing foster carers. If you are interested in this dog, please contact the Home directly to discuss suitability and a possible meet.
