Judd

Judd

Someone at the Dogs’ Homes has had a thing for Judd Nelson since 1985’s The Breakfast Club. Happily, our Judd carries none of the “teenage” angst of Nelson’s character John Bender (Nelson was 25 when he played the conflicted bad boy). “Judd is an energetic, playful and affectionate boy who is goofy and always making you laugh,” staff say.

We haven’t been overwhelmed with info about Judd. His surrender form only says he likes cuddles — but that is one heck of an understatement. Staff report he’ll lean right into your legs for pats and will leap into your lap for snuggles with the greatest of ease. “He just wants to be right next to you,” they say. He’s friendly with other dogs and has good manners at play.

Judd was in foster care for a while and was around cats, horses and chooks. His toilet training is a work in progress, and he’ll need to work on his obedience too. We recommend a beginner training course.

Please ensure the below information, including the ‘please note’ section, is read in full if you are interested in viewing, meeting or adopting Judd.

Does your lifestyle and personality match Judd?
Energetic dynamo: Vibrant and spirited, exuberant energy levels, adventure seeking, thrives on activity and excitement.

If you are interested in a dog, please make a booking to visit the Home where that dog is located. We can’t guarantee that a particular dog will still be available at the time of your visit, as adoptions occur throughout the day. Our team updates the website as quickly as possible.

Your booking is simply an allocated time to view all of the dogs, and it allows us to ensure staff are available should you wish to have a meet and greet with a particular dog.

Please remember that if you are interested in adopting on the day, all household members — including any existing dogs — must attend the appointment. It’s vital that the dog meets everyone and gets along with them, and that the whole household is ready to welcome a new family member.

Please note:
• Rental agreements allowing dogs will be required for adoption into rental properties.
• Before adopting a dog, all members of your household must attend a meet and greet with the dog (including small children and existing dogs).
• Whilst the website is live and updates frequently, there is a chance that when you arrive a dog may already have been adopted by some-one else. Sorry, but we cannot put dogs on hold over the phone. You need to meet them first so that we can ensure a suitable match.
• While our Homes are open, not every dog available for adoption will be onsite and available in person. You will notice some dogs are listed as ‘foster care’. This means that they are offsite with one of our amazing foster carers. If you are interested in this dog, please contact the Home directly to discuss suitability and a possible meet.
