- Breed: Maltese x
- Region: Hobart (off site)

Here’s Lucy! And don’t you just love her? We haven’t been overwhelmed with info about Lucy and can only make edumacated guesses about her. But she’s in foster care which has given us a better idea.
“This quiet girl is still learning and building her confidence in the outside world and with people, so a calm and quiet household would be best for her,” staff say. She’s been working on her toilet training, learning to use the doggie door and to “sit”. She’s been respectful of other small dogs in foster care, taking her cues from them. She might like a calm doggie friend in her new household.
Since Lucy needs a chilled home environment, we want her to go to a family with kids at least 15 years old, who can (hopefully) be sensitive to her needs. She’ll need regular haircuts and grooming to keep her looking her best.
Please ensure the below information, including the ‘please note’ section, is read in full if you are interested in viewing, meeting or adopting Lucy.

Does your lifestyle and personality match Lucy?
If you are interested in meeting or adopting Lucy, please phone your local Dogs’ Home. Contact details for each of our locations can be found by clicking here.
As Lucy is currently staying with a foster carer, they are not located on site and will not be present if you visit. This includes if you book a visit or meeting via our online booking system. Lucy will only be available to view or meet when prior arranged with our team over the phone.
Please note:
• Rental agreements allowing dogs will be required for adoption into rental properties.
• Before adopting a dog, all members of your household must attend a meet and greet with the dog (including small children and existing dogs).
• Whilst the website is live and updates frequently, there is a chance that when you arrive a dog may already have been adopted by some-one else. Sorry, but we cannot put dogs on hold over the phone. You need to meet them first so that we can ensure a suitable match.
• While our Homes are open, not every dog available for adoption will be onsite and available in person. You will notice some dogs are listed as ‘foster care’. This means that they are offsite with one of our amazing foster carers. If you are interested in this dog, please contact the Home directly to discuss suitability and a possible meet.
