Pearl
Pearl
- Age: 4.5 Years old (approx.)
- Weight: 26.5kg
- Gender: Female
- Breed: Poodle Standard
- Region: Hobart (off site)
- Status: Foster care
- Days in care: 34
- Adoption fee: $430
Please note: Pearl is currently spending time in foster care which means that they will not be present when visiting your local Dogs’ Home.
Just think: if you adopt Pearl, you’d have to cook something with pearl barley and oyster sauce for Asian night. Nom!
Her foster carer has given such a great report on her, we’re going to go with their pearls of wisdom: “Pearl is a wonderful girl who has completely exceeded my expectations,” they say. At first she had no interest in her carer’s dog but that soon changed. “She has been coming out of her shell (boom-tish!) which is so rewarding to see. It is clear now that she loves having a canine brother to share her days with and draws so much confidence from him.” With this in mind, we want Pearl to go to a family with another dog for company.
“Beyond her amazing progress, she is a joy to have in the house. Pearl is extremely cuddly and has a sweet, gentle nature. She is going to make her future family so happy.” Pearl isn’t suitable for a home with small animals or access to wildlife. She will need regular grooming to keep her looking good — she had a brush in foster care and, like the legend she is, behaved splendidly.
Please ensure the below information, including the ‘please note’ section, is read in full if you are interested in viewing, meeting or adopting Pearl.

Does your lifestyle and personality match Pearl?
If you are interested in meeting or adopting Pearl, please phone your local Dogs’ Home. Contact details for each of our locations can be found by clicking here.
As Pearl is currently staying with a foster carer, they are not located on site and will not be present if you visit. This includes if you book a visit or meeting via our online booking system. Pearl will only be available to view or meet when prior arranged with our team over the phone.
Please note:
• Rental agreements allowing dogs will be required for adoption into rental properties.
• Before adopting a dog, all members of your household must attend a meet and greet with the dog (including small children and existing dogs).
• Whilst the website is live and updates frequently, there is a chance that when you arrive a dog may already have been adopted by some-one else. Sorry, but we cannot put dogs on hold over the phone. You need to meet them first so that we can ensure a suitable match.
• While our Homes are open, not every dog available for adoption will be onsite and available in person. You will notice some dogs are listed as ‘foster care’. This means that they are offsite with one of our amazing foster carers. If you are interested in this dog, please contact the Home directly to discuss suitability and a possible meet.
