Expressions of Interest

The dogs pictured here are available for adoption by Expression of Interest (EOI) only. These dogs are not available for viewing or meet and greets in our Adoption area without the submission of an EOI. There are many reasons why a dog is available by EOI only. Reasons can include being in foster care, having extra special needs (eg. a senior) or we expect them to be so popular that half the state will book to visit them!

To place an EOI, please click on the link at the bottom of the page. Staff will review your application and make contact with you to arrange a meeting with the dog if they believe you might be a good fit.

Please note:

  • we can only accept EOIs under the correct dogs name. Please don’t select another dog’s name in the drop down menu.
  • if you cannot see a dog’s name in the list, it’s because we have hit the max number of EOIs that we are able to accept for that dog  and we unable to take any further.
  • due to the number of EOIs that we receive, we may not be able to respond to unsuccessful applicants.
  • we understand you may want to increase your chances of being selected as a new fur parent, but contacting us to reiterate information in your application only takes us away from our doggie duties and does not increase your chances.

Thank you for your understanding.

You not-so-little ripper! Doesn’t Rip have the most adorable smile?

Rip is a German Shepherd who will soon be two years old and weighs 33kg. We are told he knows sit, heel, shake, and the all-important get out, comes when called and is toilet trained.

However, his training may have lapsed a little: “Rip is a sweet boy who is very friendly,” staff at our Burnie Home say. “However, he will need some basic training.” Luckily, he’s still young and endowed with an eager-to-please nature so he should enjoy training.

He enjoys all forms of water sports, whether that be at the beach, dam, river or just splashing about under the garden sprinkler. We’re told he enjoys the company of other dogs. He’s not suitable for a household with small animals or livestock.

🐾 Handsome fellow
🐾 Needs training
🐾 Friendly nature
🐾 Eager to please
🐾 Loves water play

Every dog is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas and worms, and has had a standard health check. Each dog has also been behaviourally assessed.

If you are interested in meeting Rip, please use the link below to submit an expression of interest. Please include as much detail as you can about the life you could provide for a new dog. Staff from our Burnie Home will contact those suitable to chat and arrange an appointment.

Captain is hoping to chart a course into someone’s heart and sail out of our Launceston Home.

He’s a Maremma x who is a year and a half old and weighs 31kg. He has previously been putting his breeding to good use guarding a flock of ducks.

Captain has spent most of this time outside with his ducky friends, so can get a little startled by unfamiliar noises. He doesn’t have any obedience or toilet training but comes when called “when he wants to”, and we're told he keeps his pen nice and clean so maybe he's just a naturally tidy guy.

He can be initially a little reserved with people but once he warms up, he is a friendly, sweet boy who loves to lean into you for a scratch. He’s not suitable for a home with cats or other small animals. Although Captain is an experienced duck guardian, he doesn’t like chickens.

Captain has mostly spent his time down on the farm and will need a family who have plenty of space for him, and the patience to work on his obedience training and show him what life is like in the wider world. He hasn't been around children, so we think a quieter home without children would be best to help him adjust to his new life. We’d prefer he went to people who have experience with the singular breed that is the Maremma.

🐾 Daffy for ducks
🐾 Simple farm lad
🐾 Little experience
🐾 Needs training …
🐾 And toilet work

Just think: if you adopt Lego, you can refer to your home as LEGOLAND.

Lego may look like a thylacine, but he’s actually a Greyhound who weighs 33.5kg and will be three years old in September. He has passed his unmuzzling assessment and has his orange collar to prove it. As far as training goes, we can see that he’s partial to a piece of cheese …

He spent some time in foster care and received a glowing report: “He is quiet and gentle, is very social with people and dogs, and loves a cuddle!” his carer says. “He loves the beach, and generally wants to spend all his time in someone's company whether it's for a snooze or out and about in the garden.”

“Lego would love his humans to be around him most of the time, otherwise he gets lonely,” our foster care guru says. “He is a leaner and will lean his whole body weight into you.”

🐾 Quiet nature …
🐾 And gentle too
🐾 Cuddle monster
🐾 Loves people …
🐾 And other dogs

Every dog is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas and worms, and has had a standard health check. Each dog has also been behaviourally assessed.

What a pretty girl is young Tilly.

She’s a German Shepherd who is eight months old and weighs 27.5kg. We’re told she has a beautiful sit, comes when called and is toilet trained, but that’s about the size of it. Fortunately, she has youth on her side on the training front.

We are looking for owners with experience with German Shepherds, as Silly Tilly is a high-energy teenager who is very typical of her breed. She can be vocal when meeting other dogs, although she lived with a dog in the past. She’s not suitable for a home with younger children until she gets her puppyish rambunctious side under control.

Tilly loves playing with her toys. She has mostly been a backyard dog but would love to get out and explore the wider world (from the end of a lead, of course!) and socialise with everyone.

🐾 Silly teenager
🐾 High energy
🐾 Some training …
🐾 Needs more
