Expressions of Interest

The dogs pictured here are available for adoption by Expression of Interest (EOI) only. These dogs are not available for viewing or meet and greets in our Adoption area without the submission of an EOI. There are many reasons why a dog is available by EOI only. Reasons can include being in foster care, having extra special needs (eg. a senior) or we expect them to be so popular that half the state will book to visit them!

To place an EOI, please click on the link at the bottom of the page. Staff will review your application and make contact with you to arrange a meeting with the dog if they believe you might be a good fit.

Please note:

  • we can only accept EOIs under the correct dogs name. Please don’t select another dog’s name in the drop down menu.
  • if you cannot see a dog’s name in the list, it’s because we have hit the max number of EOIs that we are able to accept for that dog  and we unable to take any further.
  • due to the number of EOIs that we receive, we may not be able to respond to unsuccessful applicants.
  • we understand you may want to increase your chances of being selected as a new fur parent, but contacting us to reiterate information in your application only takes us away from our doggie duties and does not increase your chances.

Thank you for your understanding.

Lovely Ellie has the kind of smile that makes the world a better place.

“Ellie likes attention and is very loving,” we’re told. She’s a friendly, playful 31kg American Bulldog who will be four or five years old on New Year’s Eve. “She is such a sweet, affectionate girl.” See our video of her being the queen of affection in the comments.

“She loves a chat and loves company,” staff also said. “She also loves her treats and food and will let us know with a little happy howl and dancing.” Awww.

She’s toilet trained and comes when called but doesn’t appear to have had much in the way of further “formal” training, so an obedience refresher may be called for. She has been accustomed to having someone at home most of the time and hasn’t gotten out a lot, although she has enjoyed trips to the beach.

Ellie likes other dogs but can be a little selective about her friends (although her and Moose get on like a house on fire – see our video in the comments), so a pre-adoption introduction will be crucial. Ellie is not suitable for a property with chickens.

Angus must have had some beef with our photographer during his photoshoot – boyfriend has rudely poked out his tongue for all to see.

Jokes aside, we are told Angus is “a friendly, affectionate boy who absolutely adores human affection”. Affection both ways sounds promising! He came to us as a stray and we believe he’s a Bull Mastiff about five and a half years old. He weighs a bit more than 36kg.

Angus knows sit and is generally very well mannered, although he is strong on a lead. An obedience training refresher that includes treats when he does walk well could provide all the motivation he needs to rein things in.

He’s not suited to a home with cats, but we understand Angus is good with other dogs.

🐾 Pure Angus beef
🐾 Friendly fellow
🐾 Affectionate nature
🐾 Adores people

JD could stand for pretty much anything but in this girl’s case we’ve settled on Just Divine! Although Just Darn Goofy looks like it would also suit.

JD is a Kelpie x who weighs a smidge under 29kg and is three years old. We are told she knows sit, stay, comes when called, and is toilet trained.

A very affectionate girl, JD is under the impression she is a lap dog, which means hilarity is almost guaranteed with this one. She loves to play, and her favourite game is chasings, which means exercise is also guaranteed. She also likes splashing around in water – up to her chest, anyway.

We don’t know if JD has lived with other pets in the past. She plays very nicely with her doggie friends at our Launceston Home.

🐾 Looks a lil goofy
🐾 Affectionate girl
🐾 Has some training
🐾 Playful nature
🐾 Large lap dog

Every dog is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas and worms and has had a full health check. Each dog has also been behaviourally assessed.

Magical Albus puts everyone who meets him under his spell.

A Greyhound who weighs 32.5kg and will be two years old in May, Albus hasn’t had any training or much in the way of life experience, so he’ll need gentle introductions to the sensations of the wider world. He recently spent some time in foster care where it was discovered he is toilet trained.

“You won’t regret having Albus in your life — he’s incredibly good company and so easy to have around,” our foster carer said. “You’ll fall in love instantly. I know I did.

“Albus looks like a dog and tries to walk like a dog but is more of a baby giraffe,” they said. “Although walks with him are like taking a balloon for a walk, he gently follows along behind you.

“He sleeps a lot of the day and all through the night, only perking up at daybreak and around 5pm to let me know it’s time for his meal and a little walk.”

Amusingly, Albus enjoys checking out the gorgeous dog he sees in the mirror but, sadly, he can never find the dog behind the mirror. Oh, Albus.

He loves people and enjoys the company of children. He likes other dogs and might like a canine companion in his new home. He has passed his unmuzzling assessment.

🐾 Good company
🐾 Easy to walk
🐾 Gentle nature
🐾 Likes other dogs

Every dog is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas and worms, and has had a full health check. Each dog has also been behaviourally assessed.

Dozer is ready to move mountains in his search for a new home.

He came to us as a stray, so we don’t know a great deal about him. He’s a Staffy x who is four years old and weighs a smidge under 18kg.

He hasn’t had any training, but he had a stint in foster care to gain some weight, and the report is that he has toilet training “down perfect”.

“Dozer is playful, shy and polite,” our fabulous foster carers said. “He doesn't seem to know any words except his name, but he's eager to please and should train really well.

“He is still wary of strangers but wants to approach them. His tail goes brrr at any and all opportunity! He's also learned fetch — it is a great game and he runs like an absolute peanut, which is just glorious.“

We are told Dozer has lived with children of all ages and another dog.

🐾 Mystery man
🐾 Playful fellow
🐾 Eager to please
🐾 Polite nature

Every dog is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas and worms, and has had a standard health check. Each dog has also been behaviourally assessed.
