Benji

Benji

Please note: Benji is currently spending time in foster care which means that they will not be present when visiting your local Dogs’ Home.

As soon as we get one Benji adopted, another appears! Is there a roster somewhere we should know about?

This Benji is a Kelpie-Border Collie x who we’re told knows a couple of commands but is not toilet trained. “All the staff think he is a really nice boy who loves attention,” we’re told. “He’s full of energy and loves to play. He possibly would like a farm life as his parents were working cattle dogs.”

Benji lived with another dog in his old home so he might like a fur buddy in his new place. However, he spent most of his time “down on the farm” so he’s had limited exposure to the outside world and may need to improve his socialisation skills with new dogs.

Since he’ll need further training, a beginner obedience course would be ideal for him, and your trainer should be able to answer questions about toilet training and potential playmates.

Please ensure the below information, including the ‘please note’ section, is read in full if you are interested in viewing, meeting or adopting Benji.

Does your lifestyle and personality match Benji?
Energetic dynamo: Vibrant and spirited, exuberant energy levels, adventure seeking, thrives on activity and excitement.

If you are interested in meeting or adopting Benji, please phone your local Dogs’ Home. Contact details for each of our locations can be found by clicking here.

As Benji is currently staying with a foster carer, they are not located on site and will not be present if you visit. This includes if you book a visit or meeting via our online booking system.  Benji will only be available to view or meet when prior arranged with our team over the phone.

Please note:
• Rental agreements allowing dogs will be required for adoption into rental properties.
• Before adopting a dog, all members of your household must attend a meet and greet with the dog (including small children and existing dogs).
• Whilst the website is live and updates frequently, there is a chance that when you arrive a dog may already have been adopted by some-one else. Sorry, but we cannot put dogs on hold over the phone. You need to meet them first so that we can ensure a suitable match.
• While our Homes are open, not every dog available for adoption will be onsite and available in person. You will notice some dogs are listed as ‘foster care’. This means that they are offsite with one of our amazing foster carers. If you are interested in this dog, please contact the Home directly to discuss suitability and a possible meet.
