Speculation is rife that Bonnie must be named after the late, great AC/DC frontman Bon Scott, since he’s a boy. Regardless, he’d like to bid bon voyage to our Devonport Home.
Bonnie came to us very underweight and has been on a special dietary regimen to get him back up to a good size. He doesn’t have any health issues — poor guy just wasn’t getting enough to eat. I’m not crying, you are.
“Bonnie is a happy, friendly excitable boy,” staff say. “He plays with his toys in a goofy way as he’s still learning about them.” Unsurprisingly, Bonnie is food focused which bodes well for the training he needs. We recommend a beginner obedience class for him.
Please ensure the below information, including the ‘please note’ section, is read in full if you are interested in viewing, meeting or adopting Bonnie.

Does your lifestyle and personality match Bonnie?
If you are interested in a dog, please make a booking to visit the Home where that dog is located. We can’t guarantee that a particular dog will still be available at the time of your visit, as adoptions occur throughout the day. Our team updates the website as quickly as possible.
Your booking is simply an allocated time to view all of the dogs, and it allows us to ensure staff are available should you wish to have a meet and greet with a particular dog.
Please remember that if you are interested in adopting on the day, all household members — including any existing dogs — must attend the appointment. It’s vital that the dog meets everyone and gets along with them, and that the whole household is ready to welcome a new family member.
Please note:
• Rental agreements allowing dogs will be required for adoption into rental properties.
• Before adopting a dog, all members of your household must attend a meet and greet with the dog (including small children and existing dogs).
• Whilst the website is live and updates frequently, there is a chance that when you arrive a dog may already have been adopted by some-one else. Sorry, but we cannot put dogs on hold over the phone. You need to meet them first so that we can ensure a suitable match.
• While our Homes are open, not every dog available for adoption will be onsite and available in person. You will notice some dogs are listed as ‘foster care’. This means that they are offsite with one of our amazing foster carers. If you are interested in this dog, please contact the Home directly to discuss suitability and a possible meet.
