Dakoda
Dakoda
- Age: 3 Years old (approx.)
- Weight: 33kg
- Gender: Female
- Breed: Husky x
- Location: Devonport Dogs' Home
- Status: On site
- Days in care: 17
- Adoption fee: $430
Dakoda is able to roll out the red carpet for any guests you may have, judging by the length of that tongue.
This pretty girl was a stray so her past and background information are lost in the mists of time. We have found that she’s toilet trained and knows a few commands, including shake.
“Dakoda loves attention and cuddles,” staff say. “She is quiet in her pen.” Her notes also say she can be vocal when she has another dog to play with. Huskies do like to sing the song of their people. “Koda can be strong on a lead and her manners there are a work in progress. She’s a very fluffy girl.”
She would probably benefit from a beginner training course to get those lead manners in place. Dakoda will need regular grooming to keep her floofy coat in top condition.
Please ensure the below information, including the ‘please note’ section, is read in full if you are interested in viewing, meeting or adopting Dakoda.

Does your lifestyle and personality match Dakoda?
If you are interested in a dog, please make a booking to visit the Home where that dog is located. We can’t guarantee that a particular dog will still be available at the time of your visit, as adoptions occur throughout the day. Our team updates the website as quickly as possible.
Your booking is simply an allocated time to view all of the dogs, and it allows us to ensure staff are available should you wish to have a meet and greet with a particular dog.
Please remember that if you are interested in adopting on the day, all household members — including any existing dogs — must attend the appointment. It’s vital that the dog meets everyone and gets along with them, and that the whole household is ready to welcome a new family member.
Please note:
• Rental agreements allowing dogs will be required for adoption into rental properties.
• Before adopting a dog, all members of your household must attend a meet and greet with the dog (including small children and existing dogs).
• Whilst the website is live and updates frequently, there is a chance that when you arrive a dog may already have been adopted by some-one else. Sorry, but we cannot put dogs on hold over the phone. You need to meet them first so that we can ensure a suitable match.
• While our Homes are open, not every dog available for adoption will be onsite and available in person. You will notice some dogs are listed as ‘foster care’. This means that they are offsite with one of our amazing foster carers. If you are interested in this dog, please contact the Home directly to discuss suitability and a possible meet.
