Mate

Mate

Please note: Mate is currently spending time in foster care which means that they will not be present when visiting your local Dogs’ Home.

Are you seeking your perfect mate? We have already found him for you! Mate is a laidback and easy-going kind of guy, staff say.

“He’s been in foster care where he’s shown signs of learning toilet training,” they say. “He loves sleeping on his carer’s bed, and enjoys tossing toys around and having a play in the yard. He really likes lying on a snoozer bed that has been made freshly wet to let him cool off in the summer heat.” What a clever idea!

Mate hasn’t had his unmuzzling assessment yet, so will need to wear one while out and about in public. We always work closely with Greyhound owners to help their dog achieve unmuzzled status. He might benefit from a beginner obedience course.

Please ensure the below information, including the ‘please note’ section, is read in full if you are interested in viewing, meeting or adopting Mate.

Gentle giant: Big body, even bigger heart — patient, soft, and loving despite their size.

If you are interested in meeting or adopting Mate, please phone your local Dogs’ Home. Contact details for each of our locations can be found by clicking here.

As Mate is currently staying with a foster carer, they are not located on site and will not be present if you visit. This includes if you book a visit or meeting via our online booking system.  Mate will only be available to view or meet when prior arranged with our team over the phone.

Please note:
• Rental agreements allowing dogs will be required for adoption into rental properties.
• Before adopting a dog, all members of your household must attend a meet and greet with the dog (including small children and existing dogs).
• Whilst the website is live and updates frequently, there is a chance that when you arrive a dog may already have been adopted by some-one else. Sorry, but we cannot put dogs on hold over the phone. You need to meet them first so that we can ensure a suitable match.
• While our Homes are open, not every dog available for adoption will be onsite and available in person. You will notice some dogs are listed as ‘foster care’. This means that they are offsite with one of our amazing foster carers. If you are interested in this dog, please contact the Home directly to discuss suitability and a possible meet.
