Mufasa

Mufasa

Please note: Mufasa is currently spending time in foster care which means that they will not be present when visiting your local Dogs’ Home.

Mufasa should be called Mustafa — because he must have a new family committed to helping this big boy become, well, less big.

Mu-mu is very overweight and is on a special diet to help him lose some kilos so he can live a long, happy and healthy life. “Mufasa loves everyone he meets,” his foster carer says. “He’s happy to lay in the shade and supervise your work in the garden.”

“Mufasa is very loving and calm,” his surrender info says. “He is a lazy boy and a couch potato.” No kidding! Staff note that the Muffin Man likes to follow his carer around the house and would like a home where he has plenty of company. He’s had some serious dental work with us, including having multiple teeth extracted, so that expense has been covered.

Please ensure the below information, including the ‘please note’ section, is read in full if you are interested in viewing, meeting or adopting Mufasa.

Tasmanian dogs need you

Dogs’ Homes of Tasmania receives no government funding. Dogs like Mufasa get their second chance because somebody like you donated.

Even a $5 donation today can help save the next life. We wouldn’t be here for Tassie dogs without the generosity of our donors.

All donations currently matched — please donate now!

For the next 48 hours, a generous Tasmanian donor will MATCH every donation — dollar for dollar — up to $50,000. Please, dogs like Mufasa are relying on you.

Does your lifestyle and personality match Mufasa?
Velcro dog: Deeply attached to their humans and always close by. Won’t enjoy being alone for long.

If you are interested in meeting or adopting Mufasa, please phone your local Dogs’ Home. Contact details for each of our locations can be found by clicking here.

As Mufasa is currently staying with a foster carer, they are not located on site and will not be present if you visit. This includes if you book a visit or meeting via our online booking system.  Mufasa will only be available to view or meet when prior arranged with our team over the phone.

Please note:
• Rental agreements allowing dogs will be required for adoption into rental properties.
• Before adopting a dog, all members of your household must attend a meet and greet with the dog (including small children and existing dogs).
• Whilst the website is live and updates frequently, there is a chance that when you arrive a dog may already have been adopted by some-one else. Sorry, but we cannot put dogs on hold over the phone. You need to meet them first so that we can ensure a suitable match.
• While our Homes are open, not every dog available for adoption will be onsite and available in person. You will notice some dogs are listed as ‘foster care’. This means that they are offsite with one of our amazing foster carers. If you are interested in this dog, please contact the Home directly to discuss suitability and a possible meet.
