Rex

Rex

In what may be the understatement of the year, staff have described Rex as “rather large”. He’s the same weight as a small adult human. He came to us as a council surrender without our usual paperwork, so we don’t have much info on him.

“Rex has a nice nature and would be a great companion,” staff say. “We have found him to be an excitable boy who loves, loves, loves attention and treats. He seems to think that if he jumps up on you, you’ll give in to his behaviour and hand him a treat! He does know the sit command, but expects a treat in return, which is why he is rather large.”

Rex will need some training around the whole jumping/not jumping thing. “He can be quite playful and quickly becomes very excited and starts jumping on you, so we think an experienced owner would be beneficial, along with a home with no small children.”

Please ensure the below information, including the ‘please note’ section, is read in full if you are interested in viewing, meeting or adopting Rex.

Does your lifestyle and personality match Rex?
Full of life: Enthusiastic and lively, seeks stimulation and engagement, a social butterfly.

If you are interested in a dog, please make a booking to visit the Home where that dog is located. We can’t guarantee that a particular dog will still be available at the time of your visit, as adoptions occur throughout the day. Our team updates the website as quickly as possible.

Your booking is simply an allocated time to view all of the dogs, and it allows us to ensure staff are available should you wish to have a meet and greet with a particular dog.

Please remember that if you are interested in adopting on the day, all household members — including any existing dogs — must attend the appointment. It’s vital that the dog meets everyone and gets along with them, and that the whole household is ready to welcome a new family member.

Please note:
• Rental agreements allowing dogs will be required for adoption into rental properties.
• Before adopting a dog, all members of your household must attend a meet and greet with the dog (including small children and existing dogs).
• Whilst the website is live and updates frequently, there is a chance that when you arrive a dog may already have been adopted by some-one else. Sorry, but we cannot put dogs on hold over the phone. You need to meet them first so that we can ensure a suitable match.
• While our Homes are open, not every dog available for adoption will be onsite and available in person. You will notice some dogs are listed as ‘foster care’. This means that they are offsite with one of our amazing foster carers. If you are interested in this dog, please contact the Home directly to discuss suitability and a possible meet.
