Una
Una
- Age: 3 Years old (approx.)
- Weight: 35.5kg
- Gender: Female
- Breed: Greyhound
- Region: Launceston (off site)
- Status: Foster care
- Days in care: 56
- Adoption fee: $485
Please note: Una is currently spending time in foster care which means that they will not be present when visiting your local Dogs’ Home.
Could Una be the one for you? “She is a lovely girl who is affectionate and loves attention,” staff say. Sold! “Una is a typical Greyhound who likes to have zoomies in the yards in the morning and then will be snoozing in the sun or in her bedroom,” staff say.
“She is toilet trained and walks well on the lead, apart from zig zagging in front of you.” Some training, perhaps harnessing the awesome power of treats, should help here. Una doesn’t appear to have had any other training, so a beginner obedience course would be ideal for her.
Una lived with three other dogs in her previous household. “She would prefer a place where someone is often at home,” staff say. “She would enjoy the company of a calmer dog or another Greyhound.” Una has not passed her unmuzzling assessment, but we always work closely with Greyhound owners to help their dog achieve unmuzzled status.
Please ensure the below information, including the ‘please note’ section, is read in full if you are interested in viewing, meeting or adopting Una.

Does your lifestyle and personality match Una?
If you are interested in meeting or adopting Una, please phone your local Dogs’ Home. Contact details for each of our locations can be found by clicking here.
As Una is currently staying with a foster carer, they are not located on site and will not be present if you visit. This includes if you book a visit or meeting via our online booking system. Una will only be available to view or meet when prior arranged with our team over the phone.
Please note:
• Rental agreements allowing dogs will be required for adoption into rental properties.
• Before adopting a dog, all members of your household must attend a meet and greet with the dog (including small children and existing dogs).
• Whilst the website is live and updates frequently, there is a chance that when you arrive a dog may already have been adopted by some-one else. Sorry, but we cannot put dogs on hold over the phone. You need to meet them first so that we can ensure a suitable match.
• While our Homes are open, not every dog available for adoption will be onsite and available in person. You will notice some dogs are listed as ‘foster care’. This means that they are offsite with one of our amazing foster carers. If you are interested in this dog, please contact the Home directly to discuss suitability and a possible meet.
