Raymond

Raymond

Everybody loves Raymond! And why wouldn’t you when he sports such a glorious grin?

Ray was a stray (hey hey), so we don’t know anything about his past. But staff have been able to fill us in on his personality. “Ray is not your stereotypical nervous Whippet — he is the total opposite,” they say. Could we slip in a Devo reference and say he’s “Whippet good”?

“This boy is living his happiest life, he’s full of energy and enjoys a good game with toys while zooming in the yard. He may enjoy a pal to play with who has a similar play style.” Staff say Ray knows how to sit but needs reminding to keep four paws on the floor. The word that pops up with regard to him most often is “silly”, but he’s the best kind of silly. Sounds like a beginner obedience class would be the go for Raymondo.

Please ensure the below information, including the ‘please note’ section, is read in full if you are interested in viewing, meeting or adopting Raymond.

Tasmanian dogs need you

Dogs’ Homes of Tasmania receives no government funding. Dogs like Raymond get their second chance because somebody like you donated.

Even a $5 donation today can help save the next life. We wouldn’t be here for Tassie dogs without the generosity of our donors.

All donations currently matched — please donate now!

For the next 48 hours, a generous Tasmanian donor will MATCH every donation — dollar for dollar — up to $50,000. Please, dogs like Raymond are relying on you.

Full of life: Enthusiastic and lively, seeks stimulation and engagement, a social butterfly.

If you are interested in a dog, please make a booking to visit the Home where that dog is located. We can’t guarantee that a particular dog will still be available at the time of your visit, as adoptions occur throughout the day. Our team updates the website as quickly as possible.

Your booking is simply an allocated time to view all of the dogs, and it allows us to ensure staff are available should you wish to have a meet and greet with a particular dog.

Please remember that if you are interested in adopting on the day, all household members — including any existing dogs — must attend the appointment. It’s vital that the dog meets everyone and gets along with them, and that the whole household is ready to welcome a new family member.

Please note:
• Rental agreements allowing dogs will be required for adoption into rental properties.
• Before adopting a dog, all members of your household must attend a meet and greet with the dog (including small children and existing dogs).
• Whilst the website is live and updates frequently, there is a chance that when you arrive a dog may already have been adopted by some-one else. Sorry, but we cannot put dogs on hold over the phone. You need to meet them first so that we can ensure a suitable match.
• While our Homes are open, not every dog available for adoption will be onsite and available in person. You will notice some dogs are listed as ‘foster care’. This means that they are offsite with one of our amazing foster carers. If you are interested in this dog, please contact the Home directly to discuss suitability and a possible meet.
