Bubby

Bubby

Please note: Bubby is currently spending time in foster care which means that they will not be present when visiting your local Dogs’ Home.

Dear Bubby’s name unfortunately reminds us of the disturbing Aussie film cult classic Bad Boy Bubby, and that’s all we’re going to say about that! If you know, you know, and you’d probably rather forget.

“Bubby was quite unsettled with a change of routine coming into the shelter,” staff say. “But the good news is that in a foster home with a routine and structure, he thrives and loves the attention — he’s a love bug!”

“He is truly the most gentle boy ever,” his carer says. “Once he has relaxed all he wants to do is cuddle you. He is a giant lap dog who wants all the kisses and snuggles he can get.”

“Bubby is looking for a home where he can find his best friend (human or dog),” staff say. “He will suit a quieter home with people being around more often as he loves to be involved with every adventure.” He would benefit from a beginner obedience course.

Please ensure the below information, including the ‘please note’ section, is read in full if you are interested in viewing, meeting or adopting Bubby.

Tasmanian dogs need you

Dogs’ Homes of Tasmania receives no government funding. Dogs like Bubby get their second chance because somebody like you donated.

Even a $5 donation today can help save the next life. We wouldn’t be here for Tassie dogs without the generosity of our donors.

All donations currently matched — please donate now!

For the next 48 hours, a generous Tasmanian donor will MATCH every donation — dollar for dollar — up to $50,000. Please, dogs like Bubby are relying on you.

Does your lifestyle and personality match Bubby?
Peaceful companion: Loves a quiet, chilled home with a predictable routine.

If you are interested in meeting or adopting Bubby, please phone your local Dogs’ Home. Contact details for each of our locations can be found by clicking here.

As Bubby is currently staying with a foster carer, they are not located on site and will not be present if you visit. This includes if you book a visit or meeting via our online booking system.  Bubby will only be available to view or meet when prior arranged with our team over the phone.

Please note:
• Rental agreements allowing dogs will be required for adoption into rental properties.
• Before adopting a dog, all members of your household must attend a meet and greet with the dog (including small children and existing dogs).
• Whilst the website is live and updates frequently, there is a chance that when you arrive a dog may already have been adopted by some-one else. Sorry, but we cannot put dogs on hold over the phone. You need to meet them first so that we can ensure a suitable match.
• While our Homes are open, not every dog available for adoption will be onsite and available in person. You will notice some dogs are listed as ‘foster care’. This means that they are offsite with one of our amazing foster carers. If you are interested in this dog, please contact the Home directly to discuss suitability and a possible meet.
