Apache
Apache
- Age: 2.5 Years old (approx.)
- Weight: 27kg
- Gender: Male
- Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier x
- Region: Hobart (off site)
- Status: Foster care
- Days in care: 37
- Adoption fee: $430
Please note: Apache is currently spending time in foster care which means that they will not be present when visiting your local Dogs’ Home.
Apache’s chief goal in life seems to be quality couch time. And if you’re seeking a cuddle buddy, why not go with the guy his foster carer described as the most affectionate dog they’d ever met? With “ever” underlined and in capital letters, no less.
He’s a goofy Staffy-Mastiff x who was a stray. “He wants to be near you at all times and will follow you from room to room anytime you move. He always wants a cuddle and loves lying on the couch with his head on your lap.” Apparently adorable snores will likely follow.
“Apache would probably like an owner who is home more than not,” staff say. “He gets enthusiastic when meeting new people so he needs more guidance on keeping all his paws on the floor.” A beginner obedience course should be just the ticket. His carer says he’s very clever, and this canine Harry Houdini has proven it by being able to open doors with lever-style handles, so training should be a doddle.

Does your lifestyle and personality match Apache?
If you are interested in meeting or adopting Apache, please phone your local Dogs’ Home. Contact details for each of our locations can be found by clicking here.
As Apache is currently staying with a foster carer, they are not located on site and will not be present if you visit. This includes if you book a visit or meeting via our online booking system. Apache will only be available to view or meet when prior arranged with our team over the phone.
Please note:
• Rental agreements allowing dogs will be required for adoption into rental properties.
• Before adopting a dog, all members of your household must attend a meet and greet with the dog (including small children and existing dogs).
• Whilst the website is live and updates frequently, there is a chance that when you arrive a dog may already have been adopted by some-one else. Sorry, but we cannot put dogs on hold over the phone. You need to meet them first so that we can ensure a suitable match.
• While our Homes are open, not every dog available for adoption will be onsite and available in person. You will notice some dogs are listed as ‘foster care’. This means that they are offsite with one of our amazing foster carers. If you are interested in this dog, please contact the Home directly to discuss suitability and a possible meet.
