2020 began with great expectation until COVID 19 encroached and changed all our lives. An uncertain world presented. I was looking forward to our 70th anniversary year but celebrations were set aside and our energy is now focused on ensuring our furry friends are cared for amidst the COVID 19 restrictions.
I am immensely proud of the way the Dogs’ Homes of Tasmania is responding. The staff and volunteers are united to look after each other and to ensure we do all we can to look after Tasmania’s dogs. We have had to change the way we do business but we are working harder than ever to get lost dogs home, and to find new homes for stray and unwanted dogs.
I am inspired that many Tasmanians have rallied to offer foster care and words of support and encouragement. I am proud of the way we are working with our community to make sure we are there for all the dogs each and every day.
We celebrate these achievements but face the reality we need your help to support our vital work. I understand that many in the community are facing tough times. My first hope is for you and your family and friends to stay safe and well. If you can donate to the Dogs’ Home Winter Appeal 2020, the doggies will be furever grateful.
