Livingston

Violet needed us. Right now, we need you.
In 1950, we made a promise to always be there for every dog that needs us. For Violet, that promise meant life-saving surgery and over $2,000 spent on care and medical expenses.
We need to raise $335,000 before June 30 to ensure we can continue providing care and veterinary treatment to every dog that needs us.
Livingston

- Weight: 18kg
- Gender: Male
- Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier x
- Region: Hobart (off site)
- Status: Foster care
- Days in care: 32
- Adoption fee: $430
Please note: Livingston is currently spending time in foster care which means that they will not be present when visiting your local Dogs’ Home.
Dr Livingston, I presume? It’s appropriate that we mention doctors, since Livingston has had a “run-in” with our vet staff. It’s also appropriate that we allude to famous doctors, since he starred at our recent Petstock adoption day.
Livingston, who is a Staffy-Shar Pei-Spaniel x, came to us with a wound on his back left leg — we have no idea what happened — and unfortunately the leg had to go. “He’s handling his tripod status like a champ,” his foster carer says. “It really isn’t slowing him down.” Word is he’s quite the snuggle bunny too, and sleeps “like a baby” on his carer’s bed.
“He did really well at the adoption day,” staff say. “He just absolutely loves all people he meets, and wants pats and cuddles from everyone. He would be best suited to a home where someone is home a fair bit, or a family with lots of people as he thrives on company. He also enjoys dog company but is a shadow with his people.”
Livingston is getting on well with two small dogs in foster care. He is highly motivated by food, which is a good omen for the obedience training he needs.
Please ensure the below information, including the ‘please note’ section, is read in full if you are interested in viewing, meeting or adopting Livingston.

Does your lifestyle and personality match Livingston?
If you are interested in meeting or adopting Livingston, please phone your local Dogs’ Home. Contact details for each of our locations can be found by clicking here.
As Livingston is currently staying with a foster carer, they are not located on site and will not be present if you visit. This includes if you book a visit or meeting via our online booking system. Livingston will only be available to view or meet when prior arranged with our team over the phone.
Please note:
• Rental agreements allowing dogs will be required for adoption into rental properties.
• Before adopting a dog, all members of your household must attend a meet and greet with the dog (including small children and existing dogs).
• Whilst the website is live and updates frequently, there is a chance that when you arrive a dog may already have been adopted by some-one else. Sorry, but we cannot put dogs on hold over the phone. You need to meet them first so that we can ensure a suitable match.
• While our Homes are open, not every dog available for adoption will be onsite and available in person. You will notice some dogs are listed as ‘foster care’. This means that they are offsite with one of our amazing foster carers. If you are interested in this dog, please contact the Home directly to discuss suitability and a possible meet.
