Skye

Violet needed us. Right now, we need you.
In 1950, we made a promise to always be there for every dog that needs us. For Violet, that promise meant life-saving surgery and over $2,000 spent on care and medical expenses.
We need to raise $335,000 before June 30 to ensure we can continue providing care and veterinary treatment to every dog that needs us.
Skye
- Age: 1.5 Years old (approx.)
- Weight: 15.5kg
- Gender: Female
- Breed: Corgi x
- Region: Hobart (off site)
- Status: Foster care
- Days in care: 23
- Adoption fee: $430
Please note: Skye is currently spending time in foster care which means that they will not be present when visiting your local Dogs’ Home.
Skye is an appropriate name for this gorgeous girl, since her impressive ears are reaching for the sky.
She’s a Corgi-Dachshund x who is in foster care, where it’s been noted she likes to carry around treats or dog biscuits as if they were a prize. D’awwww. “Skye is a very bright and happy girl who is full of energy and excited to greet you,” staff say. “She’s very people focused and will look to you for guidance and reassurance.
“She loves to play with soft toys and enjoys the company of quieter dogs,” they say. She’s been learning about toilet training in foster care and has mastered the doggy door — hurray! We recommend ongoing training for Skye: a beginner course would be a good place to start and is certain to help her bond with her new family.
Please ensure the below information, including the ‘please note’ section, is read in full if you are interested in viewing, meeting or adopting Skye.

Does your lifestyle and personality match Skye?
If you are interested in meeting or adopting Skye, please phone your local Dogs’ Home. Contact details for each of our locations can be found by clicking here.
As Skye is currently staying with a foster carer, they are not located on site and will not be present if you visit. This includes if you book a visit or meeting via our online booking system. Skye will only be available to view or meet when prior arranged with our team over the phone.
Please note:
• Rental agreements allowing dogs will be required for adoption into rental properties.
• Before adopting a dog, all members of your household must attend a meet and greet with the dog (including small children and existing dogs).
• Whilst the website is live and updates frequently, there is a chance that when you arrive a dog may already have been adopted by some-one else. Sorry, but we cannot put dogs on hold over the phone. You need to meet them first so that we can ensure a suitable match.
• While our Homes are open, not every dog available for adoption will be onsite and available in person. You will notice some dogs are listed as ‘foster care’. This means that they are offsite with one of our amazing foster carers. If you are interested in this dog, please contact the Home directly to discuss suitability and a possible meet.
